German Television Presenter Laura Wontorra Expects First Child

German television presenter Laura Wontorra is expecting her first child with her partner, Sky moderator Riccardo Basile. The couple announced the pregnancy publicly in early October on Instagram by sharing joint photographs alongside an ultrasound image and baby shoes.

Wontorra has established herself as a prominent figure in German broadcasting, working extensively across both sports coverage and major entertainment formats. Born in Bremen on February 26, 1989, she is the daughter of television presenter Jörg Wontorra and writer Ariane Wontorra. After completing her studies in media management in Cologne and undertaking internships with various media organizations, she built a successful career as a sideline reporter and host for Sky Deutschland and Sport1, later working with broadcasters such as RTL, NITRO, and DAZN.

Beyond sports journalism, Wontorra is well known to general audiences for hosting popular entertainment shows. Her credits include leading VOX's "Grill den Henssler" since 2020, presenting "Deutschland sucht den Superstar," and serving as part of the hosting trio for "Ninja Warrior Germany."

Amidst her personal news, Wontorra recently made headlines regarding her television appearances and past marriage. She was previously married to former professional soccer player Simon Zoller after the couple met when he played for 1. FC Kaiserslautern and later moved to Cologne. Following their separation in November 2022, Wontorra spoke openly in recent interviews about looking back on the marriage, describing it as a learning experience that shaped her professional and personal growth.

Wontorra also faced media attention surrounding a scheduled appearance on the WDR talk show "Kölner Treff." Originally announced by the broadcaster to discuss her pregnancy and new life chapter as a replacement for Collien Fernandes, Wontorra ultimately did not appear in the broadcasted episode on October 30. Neither the network nor the presenter provided an immediate public explanation for her absence from the studio panel.

Continuing her television career, Wontorra returned to RTL's sports team to cover matches involving the German national football team, further solidifying her enduring presence in German media across sports and entertainment.
