Fans of the popular crime series "The Rosenheim Cops" will have to skip their usual viewing routine as the program is temporarily suspended. Normally, the investigators solve cases every Tuesday at 7:25 PM on the German network ZDF. However, the broadcaster is altering its evening schedule to air a special news broadcast dedicated to the United States midterm elections.

The special program, titled "ZDF spezial: Midterms in the USA - Zwischenzeugnis für Trump," will run in the standard television slot from 7:25 PM to 8:15 PM. Consequently, the fifth episode of the current season will not air on its usual weekly schedule.

Viewers will not have to wait long for the return of the detectives, as the next installment is scheduled to broadcast on Tuesday, November 10, at 7:25 PM. The upcoming episode, titled "A Dead Man in the Cemetery," will also become available for streaming on the digital ZDF media library ahead of its television broadcast for fans who prefer to watch online.

In the upcoming narrative, investigators Anton Stadler, portrayed by Dieter Fischer, and Julia Beck, played by Michaela Weingartner, are tasked with investigating the death of volunteer cross-bearer Hans Kastenmüller. Authorities discover him lifeless inside the mourning hall of St. Agnes Cemetery, setting off a complex investigation involving multiple suspects.

Several individuals quickly fall under suspicion, including Kastenmüller's wife, Sibel, portrayed by Atischeh Hannah Braun, who had reportedly wanted a separation from him. Additionally, the victim's neighbor, Urban Pötsch, played by Levent Özdil, becomes a person of interest due to ongoing disputes with the deceased.

The investigation further reveals that Kastenmüller had been blackmailing his employer, Dr. Christian Zeitler, portrayed by Andreas Schwankl, entangling him heavily in the criminal case. Alongside the murder mystery, personal developments in investigator Beck's life spark rumors among her colleagues after her half-brother, Simon Gerlach, makes a surprise visit and is mistakenly viewed as a romantic admirer.

The 26th season of the beloved series premiered on October 6. Meanwhile, a significant milestone approaches for the long-running program as Marisa Burger prepares for her departure after portraying police secretary Miriam Stockl for 25 years. Her final appearance is scheduled for the November 24 episode titled "Es gabat an Abschied."
