Gençlerbirliği Dominates Alanyaspor with a 5-0 Victory in Süper Lig

Gençlerbirliği delivered a dominant performance on Monday, cruising to a 5-0 victory against Corendon Alanyaspor at Eryaman Stadium in the closing match of the 10th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig. The capital club seized control of the game right from the opening whistle and never relinquished their advantage.

The home side started the match aggressively, stunning Alanyaspor with an early goal in the very first minute. Oğulcan Ülgün found the back of the net to put Gençlerbirliği ahead 1-0. Despite attempting to respond, Alanyaspor struggled to break through the organized host defense during the remainder of the first half, heading into the locker room trailing by a single goal under the refereeing of Fatih Tokail.

The second half turned into a nightmare for the visiting team as Gençlerbirliği capitalized on defensive lapses to widen the gap. In the 59th minute, Tongya scored to double the lead to 2-0 after receiving a pass from Traore inside the penalty area. The floodgates opened shortly after, with Gouveia netting his first goal in the 67th minute before Mendes added a fourth in the 69th minute with a close-range header.

Alanyaspor completely lost control of the tempo, allowing Gençlerbirliği to cap off the scoring in the 79th minute. Goalkeeper İrfan Can Eğribayat launched a long pass that found Gouveia on the left flank, and the forward drove into the box to score his second of the night, sealing the final 5-0 scoreline.

With this crucial victory, Gençlerbirliği raised their season points tally to 11, providing a significant morale boost after recent league struggles. Meanwhile, Alanyaspor remained stuck on 12 points following their heavy defeat, exposing deep defensive vulnerabilities that coach Joao Pereira's squad must address.

Alanyaspor entered the Ankara fixture looking to reverse a downward slide that included recent losses to Fenerbahçe and Kocaelispor, though they had briefly found relief with a 4-1 Turkish Cup victory over 12 Bingölspor. However, the absence of key players such as Maestro and Fatih Aksoy further complicated their tactical setup against the hosts.

Looking ahead to the next fixtures of the Süper Lig campaign, Gençlerbirliği will travel to Istanbul to face Beşiktaş. On the other hand, Alanyaspor will return home to host Trabzonspor at their stadium, aiming to put the heavy Ankara defeat behind them and recover their early-season form.
