Chattanooga Football Club secured a historic 3-1 victory over CT United FC on Sunday evening in the MLS NEXT Pro Eastern Conference Semifinals, advancing to host the conference final. The milestone marks the furthest an independent club has ever progressed in the league's history.

The match remained fiercely contested through a scoreless opening stretch until the second half, when Chattanooga broke through with goals from Tate Robertson, Alex Krehl, and substitute Steeve Louis Jean. Robertson opened the scoring in the 61st minute with a long-range shot from nearly 30 yards out that caught visiting goalkeeper Gunther Rankenburg off guard.

"I saw the goalie a little too far right," Robertson stated after the match. "I think he was playing the cross, so I just shot and let the chips fall where they may and luckily enough it went in."

Although CT United managed to equalize shortly after through a deflected shot by Barnabás Tanyi, Chattanooga quickly regained control. Krehl converted a penalty kick after teammate Daniel Mangarov was brought down in the area, and Louis Jean capped the victory in the 83rd minute following a quick counterattack.

Chattanooga Head Coach Richard Dixon praised his team's collective effort and chemistry following the win. "For us, it's about winning and playing well together," Dixon remarked. "That's always my last instruction to the group: Go do it, but do it together."

With the victory, Chattanooga FC moves on to host Columbus Crew 2 in the Eastern Conference Final at Finley Stadium. Crew 2 advanced after defeating top-seeded Crown Legacy FC, setting up a high-stakes showdown between two formidable conference rivals.
