Chico da Tina Announces Super Arraial at MEO Arena in Lisbon
The Portuguese artist is set to perform a large-scale variety show combining popular culture, traditional concertina, and modern music genres on April 16, 2027.
Portuguese musician Chico da Tina is scheduled to perform at the MEO Arena in Lisbon on April 16, 2027, bringing his major "Super Arraial" event to the country's largest indoor venue. Promoters announced that the performance will transform the venue into a traditional Portuguese pilgrimage site, featuring a blend of traditional sounds and contemporary music.
Described as a large-scale variety show, the concert will include music, concertina performances, dancing, special guests, surprises, and fan prizes. According to the organizing committee, the event aims to merge popular culture with the unexpected, ensuring that staying seated is completely out of the question for attendees.
The artist, originally from Viana do Castelo, plans to integrate his signature concertina with hip-hop, trap, and traditional popular music. Organizers stated that traditional folk dances will intersect with new sounds, supported by the musician's characteristic humor and unpredictability.
The concert serves as a showcase for his upcoming album, "Sou Grande no Amor." While an official release date for the full record has not yet been announced, several singles from the project have already been released, including "Vícios," "Pega ou Larga," "Pressinhas," "Sou Arqueólogo," and the title track.
In addition to newer material, the setlist is expected to feature recent singles and popular tracks that have accumulated millions of streams across digital platforms. Earlier this year, the artist surpassed 700,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
Chico da Tina released his debut album, "Minho Trapstar," in 2019, followed by the compilation "E agora como é que é" and the "Tina Dance Mixtape" in 2021. His discography also includes the EPs "Trapalhadas" and "Playboy Matos," a 2024 tribute to singer Tony de Matos.
Tickets for the upcoming Lisbon concert are currently on sale, with initial prices ranging from 20 to 40 euros. Event organizers recommend that attendees arrive early, prepare their voices, and get ready for a night of extensive celebration.
