Secret Concert Series Returns to Frankfurt with Strict Phone Ban

The secret concert series known as "Unreleased" returned to the Batschkapp venue in Frankfurt, bringing together 16 undisclosed musicians for a unique live performance. The event features a strict no-phone policy where attendees' cameras are taped at the entrance to prevent digital recordings and encourage an immersive experience.

Originally featuring ten artists in previous editions, the latest lineup expanded to 16 performers. The roster maintains complete secrecy until showtime, offering a blend of local musical legends and rising stars. The musical style spans across street rap, pop, and R&B, giving emerging talent a platform to showcase unreleased tracks in front of a larger crowd.

Organizers state that the phone ban serves a deeper purpose than simply curating a distinct atmosphere. By prohibiting audience recordings, the initiative protects unreleased material and provides artists with a secure environment to test new material without immediate leaks on the internet.

Co-founder Federico Battaglia noted the contrast between this format and standard live shows, where audiences typically hold up glowing screens. At these events, attendees focus entirely on the music without knowing the performing lineup beforehand.

While audience photography is restricted, professional media teams capture footage for official social media channels. By purchasing a ticket, attendees consent to being photographed and filmed during the performance.

The format previously debuted at the same Frankfurt venue in February with a sold-out crowd of approximately 1,500 people, prompting the organizers to bring the concept back for another installment.
