Atlanta Falcons star wide receiver Drake London briefly left Sunday's Week 8 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to an apparent injury during the opening drive. London was targeted once on the game's initial series but failed to make a catch, after which the team announced he was being evaluated for a potential concussion.

The medical evaluation placed London's status as questionable to return as of 1:14 p.m. ET. However, the Falcons avoided a major injury scare for their primary passing weapon when he returned to the field less than five minutes after the initial announcement.

London serves as the focal point of the Atlanta passing attack alongside quarterback Michael Penix Jr. Behind London, the Falcons' wide receiver depth chart features Jahan Dotson as the primary number two option, alongside contributors Olamide Zaccheaus, Zachariah Branch, and Chris Blair.

Despite London's return, the Atlanta offense struggled throughout the afternoon against the Buccaneers. The Falcons ultimately dropped the contest in a 16-0 shutout, limiting the effectiveness of their overall game plan.

Earlier in the week, away from the NFL gridiron, London made headlines with remarks regarding his collegiate alma mater. During an appearance on the Stephen A. Smith Show, the former USC standout discussed his loyalties to the Trojans and dismissed the impressive season of arch-rival UCLA.

Addressing the Bruins' strong 8-0 start and rise to the No. 7 spot in the college football rankings, London offered a blunt assessment of the rivalry. "They know who the big brother is," London stated during the interview, prompting approval from the host.

While London expressed confidence in USC ahead of their matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Trojans navigate the season following prior losses to Oregon and Wisconsin. Nevertheless, London's primary focus remains on contributing to the Falcons as the NFL season progresses.
