The organizers of the Valencia Half Marathon have officially opened the registration process for the 2027 edition of the event. Runners who participated in the 2026 race are now eligible to secure their entry during a dedicated loyalty period, allowing them to bypass the general public lottery system.

This loyalty window began on November 5 at 11:00 a.m. and will remain open until November 9 at 10:59 a.m. During this timeframe, anyone who was registered for the 2026 race, regardless of whether they ultimately completed the course, is entitled to reserve a spot for the 2027 event. This initiative is designed to reward returning runners and ensure they can participate in one of the most highly anticipated races on the national calendar.

Following the conclusion of the loyalty phase, the organization will open registration for the general public lottery on November 10. This second registration window will run through November 16, with the final results of the lottery process scheduled to be announced on November 18. The total capacity for the 2027 race is set at 25,000 entries.

The event, which is officially known as the Medio Maratón Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Wizz Air, recently underwent a significant rebranding. The airline Wizz Air has joined as a new title sponsor, partnering with the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation. This collaboration marks a new chapter for the race, which has been a staple of the city's sporting scene for 35 years.

Paco Borao, president of the SD Correcaminos, the organization behind the race, expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership. "We have been saying for years that you fly at the Valencia Half Marathon, so the landing of Wizz Air in our race is being experienced as a natural step," Borao stated. He added that the organization is pleased to have the airline's support for an event that continues to demonstrate its status as one of the best in the world.

The decision by Wizz Air to sponsor the race coincides with the airline's expansion in Spain, including the establishment of a permanent base at the Valencia airport this December. Mauro Peneda, general manager of Wizz Air Malta, noted that the company is proud to sponsor such a prestigious event. "In Wizz Air, we believe in bringing people together, inspiring ambition, and making new experiences accessible to everyone," Peneda said. "With the opening of our new base in Valencia, this alliance represents another exciting step to strengthen our connection with the city and its community."

As part of the new sponsorship agreement, the Valencia Half Marathon has introduced a refreshed visual identity. The race now features a new logo and has adopted cobalt blue and pink as its primary colors. This update reflects the ongoing evolution of the event, which saw 25,733 finishers out of 26,500 registered participants in 2025, highlighting its continued international appeal.
