TVS Unveils New Apache RTR 125 Streetfighter at EICMA 2026
The high-performance 125cc motorcycle features a liquid-cooled engine and advanced hardware, targeting European markets.
TVS Motor Company officially introduced its newest naked streetfighter, the Apache RTR 125, at the EICMA 2026 motorcycle show in Milan, Italy. Developed primarily for international markets that follow A1 motorcycle license regulations, the sporty motorcycle brings a high level of performance and advanced technology to the entry-level displacement category.
At the mechanical core of the Apache RTR 125 is a 125cc, four-valve, liquid-cooled, DOHC single-cylinder engine. The motor produces roughly 14.7 to 14.9 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and 12 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. Power is delivered to the wheels through a six-speed transmission system paired with a standard assist-and-slipper clutch designed to ensure smooth gear shifts and reduce rear-wheel hop during aggressive downshifts.
The motorcycle is built around a steel trellis frame, referred to as the Synchro Stiff frame, and is complemented by a cast swingarm. Suspension duties are handled by a KYB setup featuring a 41mm inverted front fork and an adjustable rear monoshock. For stopping power, the machine relies on petal disc brakes equipped with ByBre calipers and a switchable dual-channel anti-lock braking system.
Styling-wise, the streetfighter showcases an aggressive design characterized by sharp bodywork, muscular tank extensions, a rectangular LED projector headlamp, and a forward-biased stance. It also includes a flat handlebar with knuckle guards, a tall transparent windshield, and a split-seat configuration. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in road-focused tires.
Inside the cockpit, riders are greeted by a modern 5-inch color TFT instrument display with Bluetooth connectivity, full-screen map mirroring, and turn-by-turn navigation. The machine also features dedicated riding modes and hazard lamps, allowing operators to adjust power delivery to match different road conditions.
Regarding market availability, sources differ on potential future releases. While reports indicate that the motorcycle is built specifically for European A1 license holders to compete directly with models like the KTM 125 Duke, some publications suggest that an introduction in India could happen next year or in 2027.
However, industry analysts note that an Indian launch faces significant hurdles, primarily concerning pricing. Because of its premium hardware, liquid-cooled engine, and extensive electronic features, the Apache RTR 125 would likely be positioned significantly higher than conventional air-cooled 125cc motorcycles currently sold in India, and TVS has not yet officially confirmed a timeline for domestic release.
