Harley-Davidson has officially revealed its latest small-capacity motorcycle, the Sprint 440, designed to serve as an accessible entry point into the brand's lineup for beginners, returning riders, and A2 license holders. Developed in partnership with Hero MotoCorp, the motorcycle will make its public debut at EICMA 2026 in Milan. Following its international rollout, the Sprint 440 is scheduled to launch in the United States in spring 2027, with final assembly taking place at the company's facility in York, Pennsylvania.

The Sprint name connects the manufacturer to its lightweight motorcycle history, which began in 1961 to attract younger riders. The new model adopts traditional cruiser styling rather than the roadster aesthetic of the related X440. Its design incorporates a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a circular headlamp, machined aluminum wheels, a shortened rear mudguard, and a stepped seat. International markets will receive the motorcycle in three color choices: Dark Billiard Grey, Vivid Black, and Teal Thunder.

Powering the Sprint 440 is an air- and oil-cooled 440cc single-cylinder engine that produces 26.7 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 38 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The powertrain is paired with a six-speed transmission featuring an assist-and-slipper clutch designed to ease lever operation and maintain rear-wheel stability during downshifts. Engineers tuned the long-stroke engine to deliver usable low-speed torque suited for city commuting and relaxed highway riding, yielding a combined fuel efficiency of around 34 kilometers per liter.

Accessibility is a central focus of the new cruiser, highlighted by a laden seat height of just 671 millimeters. A narrow seat and fuel tank profile, alongside optional Reach and Tallboy seats, help accommodate riders of varying heights by making it easier to reach the ground. The motorcycle features a steel-tube frame, 43-millimeter upside-down front forks with 130 millimeters of travel, and twin rear shock absorbers with seven-step preload adjustment. Braking hardware consists of a 320-millimeter front disc and a 240-millimeter rear disc equipped with standard anti-lock braking systems.

For modern convenience, the motorcycle includes a circular 3.5-inch color TFT instrument cluster, full-LED lighting, and a USB-C charging port positioned above the headlamp. Harley-Davidson is also offering a range of genuine accessories, such as a detachable windscreen, textile saddlebags, a passenger backrest with a sissy bar, an engine guard, and alternative handlebars. Practicality considerations include a relatively modest 9-liter fuel tank and 147 millimeters of ground clearance, emphasizing ergonomics and city agility over long-distance touring capacity.

Pricing and availability details vary across regions. In the United States, the motorcycle carries an MSRP of $5,999. In Germany, reports indicate pricing starting from 5,700 euros with availability anticipated around November 2026, while the UK starting price is set at £4,995. Although Hero MotoCorp produces the model for international distribution, neither company has yet confirmed an official launch date or local pricing for the Indian market.
