The Friday drama series "LOST10," broadcast by TBS, has captivated viewers with a stunning and tragic second episode that has intensified the mystery at the heart of the show. Set against the magnificent natural landscape of Hokkaido, the human suspense drama centers on the "Shikaradake Incident," a disaster during a guided mountain climbing tour that leaves five hikers and one guide stranded.

Following the initial rescue efforts, the investigation takes a dark turn when one of the climbers, Nikaido, is discovered dead after slipping into a river. An autopsy reveals that he had been administered sleeping pills. Detective Komコマ, portrayed by Ryusei Yokohama, interviews rescued guide Tabata, played by Marie Iitoyo. Tabata notes that Aya, a junior high school teacher played by Anne Nakamura, was the designated beneficiary of the group's mountain insurance and mentions that Aya had provided Nikaido with bottled water and followed him after a lightning strike.

Police subsequently recover a bottle containing Nikaido's saliva and Aya's fingerprints, raising suspicions that Aya may be directly involved. Meanwhile, another character, Nao, played by Shun Oguri, investigates Nikaido's diner, only to be briefly detained by an employee before being rescued by Komaba.

The episode reaches a grim climax when Tabata receives a mysterious phone call, breaks down in tears, and heads to her apartment building. Komaba and Nao follow her to the rooftop, where Komaba attempts to prevent her from jumping. Tragically, Tabata declares that everything will be resolved and leaps from the ledge, leaving the characters and audience in shock.

Reflecting on the overarching narrative and character dynamics, actress Anne Nakamura shared her thoughts in an interview about portraying Aya. She noted that the grand scale of the human suspense story makes it difficult to summarize simply. "Everyone is suspicious," Nakamura remarked regarding the various secrets held by the tour participants, adding that viewers can expect continuous speculation as hidden connections come to light.

Created by the production team behind acclaimed dramas such as "Nのために" and "最愛," including screenwriter Satoko Okudera, director Ayuko Tsukahara, and producer Junko Arai, "LOST10" continues to air weekly on Fridays. The series weaves together elements of illicit drug trafficking and past tragedies, pointing toward a complex web of conspiracy that drove the characters to desperate measures.
