Starting pitchers Ko Young-pyo of the KT Wiz and Chris Paddack of the Samsung Lions engaged in a memorable pitching duel during Game 2 of the Korean Series at KT Wiz Park in Suwon, South Korea. Both starting pitchers threw seven innings of one-run ball, setting the stage for a tense contest that ultimately ended in a 3-2 victory for the Lions in 12 innings.

The hard-fought win allowed the Samsung Lions to even the best-of-seven championship series at one game apiece, bouncing back after dropping the opening game 8-7. The opening loss placed early pressure on the Lions, given that teams winning the first game of the Korean Series historically hold a 73.8% series win rate.

Ko, a veteran pitcher known for his unorthodox delivery, scattered seven hits and struck out four batters without issuing a walk across his 96 pitches. He surrendered his only runs in the second inning after yielding a double to Choi Hyoung-woo and a triple to Lewin Diaz, but quickly settled down to escape further damage.

On the opposing side, Paddack navigated traffic on the basepaths throughout his outing, allowing at least one baserunner in all seven of his innings. Despite giving up eight hits and one walk while striking out three batters, the former major leaguer limited the KT Wiz to a single run over 102 pitches, throwing on just three days of rest.

Both starting pitchers handed the game over to their respective bullpens with the score tied at 1-1, resulting in no-decisions for either ace. Paddack ultimately secured the final team success as the Lions capitalized in extra innings to level the series.

The matchup showcased elite pitching under immense postseason pressure as the two teams continue their battle for the South Korean baseball championship title.
