The reality television show La Granja VIP held its eighth elimination gala on Sunday, November 1, resulting in the departure of singer and actor Pablo Montero. Broadcast by TV Azteca, the program narrowed down its list of nominees throughout the evening until Montero received the fewest votes from the public, ending his run on the second season of the competition.

The elimination process began with a group of nominees that included Niurka Marcos, Mario "Mono" Osuna, Rafael Mercadante, Kevyn "Bicolor" Contreras, and Pablo Montero. Host Adal Ramones announced the sequential saving of the contestants over the course of the broadcast. Rafael Mercadante was the first to be saved by public vote, followed by Niurka Marcos and Kevyn Contreras. The final save of the night went to Mario Osuna, leaving Montero as the eighth contestant to leave the farm.

Prior to the announcement of his exit, Montero expressed gratitude for the experience, stating, "I thank you for the support, your attention, affection, already with 25 years as a singer... you always show me your affection." Following the verdict, he added that he was taking away a wonderful experience and sent an embrace to his fans.

Montero's departure sparked controversy both inside and outside the set. Ana Sofía, Montero's niece, voiced strong frustration during the gala, accusing the production of manipulation and alleging that viewer votes were not being respected. She claimed the outcome favored the television network's preferred storylines and confronted influencer Azalia Ojeda, whom she labeled "vulgar" after questioning her presence at the elimination event.

Azalia Ojeda, who was recently eliminated from the program herself, dismissed the accusations and urged Montero's niece to accept the results without complaint. Network hosts defended the integrity of the project, stating they had no objections to showing the voting tallies, while reports indicated that Montero had indeed received the lowest vote count of the evening, narrowly trailing Osuna.

As part of the show's mechanics, the departing contestant holds the power of the "Legado," allowing them to automatically nominate another participant for the following week without undergoing the regular group assembly process. With Montero's exit, the participant group known internally as "Los Disfuncionales" lost another member, altering the strategic dynamics inside the house as the reality series continues its ten-week run.
