The legendary heavy metal festival Ozzfest is officially returning after a nine-year hiatus, bringing its first-ever concert to Mexico as part of a newly announced 2027 global itinerary. The event, originally founded by heavy metal pioneer Ozzy Osbourne and his wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, will feature three major stops across the United Kingdom, the United States, and Mexico.

The 2027 tour schedule begins on Saturday, July 10, 2027, at The National Bowl in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom. The festival will then travel to the United States for a performance on Saturday, September 11, 2027, at the Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino, California. Finally, the event will make its historic debut in Mexico on Saturday, September 18, 2027, at the Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City.

Announced on November 5, 2026, the Mexico City concert has generated massive excitement among rock and metal fans. Ticket sales for the Mexican date are scheduled to begin with an early bird phase, titled "Early Bat" in reference to Ozzy Osbourne's famous stage incident involving a bat, starting on Friday, November 6, 2026, through Ticketmaster. While organizers have confirmed special pricing for these early tickets, exact cost details have not yet been disclosed.

Regarding the official lineup for the Mexico City date, organizers stated that the performing bands and artists will be announced by Sharon Osbourne and the production team in the coming months. In the meantime, fan pages and music enthusiasts have speculated about potential acts whose current tour schedules might align with the festival date, with bands such as Korn, Evanescence, and Gojira circulating among rumored possibilities.

The return of the festival marks a significant milestone for the genre. Sharon Osbourne emphasized the enduring legacy of the event, stating, "Ozzy was the first to launch his own touring metal festival and Ozzfest will always be an important part of the legacy of Ozzy."

Ozzfest was originally established in 1996 by Ozzy and Sharon after the singer was excluded from the Lollapalooza lineup because his music did not fit the prevailing commercial trends of the time. Traditionally headlined by Ozzy Osbourne himself, the festival grew into a premier destination for heavy metal fans, hosting iconic acts like Slayer, Sepultura, and Biohazard over the years before going inactive due to scheduling issues.

For Mexican metal fans, the arrival of Ozzfest offers a major concert option following a shortage of traditional heavy metal festivals in the country in recent years. Additional details regarding the festival and updates on the official lineup will be made available through the official Ozzfest website.
