Organizers for the Bearded Theory festival have revealed their initial lineup for the 2027 event, featuring headliners Public Enemy and Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls. The 18th edition of the multi-award-winning independent festival is scheduled to take place from May 26 to May 30, 2027, returning to the grounds of Catton Park in the heart of the National Forest in Derbyshire.

The initial artist announcement highlights a broad mix of musical genres, including punk, alternative rock, hip-hop, and electronic music. In addition to the headliners, the festival will host performances by Super Furry Animals, Hot Chip, The Interrupters, Westside Cowboy, Antony Szmierek, Bob Vylan, Lime Garden, Man/Woman/Chainsaw, Sea Power, Steel Pulse, The Wonder Stuff, and This Is The Kit.

Sources note that Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls will deliver a UK festival exclusive performance. This appearance coincides with what is anticipated to be his final year of heavy touring, as he plans to pursue new life priorities and personal well-being following the conclusion of his Lost Evenings shows in November 2027.

Reflecting on his decision to step back from the road, Turner explained that he has spent most of his life touring and wishes to explore new experiences. He cited a desire to recharge, spend quality time with friends and family, and look after his physical and mental health amid a changing music industry landscape heavily influenced by social media.

Additional acts confirmed for the upcoming milestone event include Black Flag, Bob Mould, Dream Wife, The Lovely Eggs, ALT BLK ERA, The Bar Stool Preachers, The Meffs, Bruise Control, Millie Manders and The Shutup, Cowboy Hunters, and Beans On Toast. Further additions to the bill are expected to be announced in the coming months.

Beyond the music, Bearded Theory continues its focus on community, sustainability, and independent culture across multiple stages. The event will also bring back its family-friendly programming, featuring the Children's Area and the unique Festival School, which offers educational workshops and activities spanning subjects like maths, mindfulness, and DJing for children ranging from pre-school age up to Year 10.

Tickets, which include various payment plans and glamping options, are currently on sale as organizers prepare for the multi-day celebration of grassroots music and performing arts.
