Monica Galetti Returns for Season 19 of MasterChef: The Professionals
The acclaimed chef joins Marcus Wareing as the culinary competition series begins its latest run on BBC One.
Chef Monica Galetti is set to return to the judging panel for the 19th season of the popular culinary competition, MasterChef: The Professionals. The series, which showcases the talents of professional chefs from across the United Kingdom, will premiere on BBC One on Tuesday, November 3, at 8 p.m. Galetti will be joined by fellow judge Marcus Wareing as they evaluate the technical skills, creativity, and professional composure of 24 aspiring contestants.
This upcoming season arrives following a period of transition for the long-running program. While the show maintains its high-stakes environment, the new season follows the conclusion of the renovation series DIY SOS. The BBC confirmed that MasterChef: The Professionals will fill the time slot previously occupied by the home improvement show, which has been placed on hiatus as part of the network's broader savings initiatives.
The competition will feature a rigorous schedule, with episodes airing three times per week. The season is slated to run for seven weeks, concluding with a grand finale on Friday, December 18. Viewers will be able to watch the episodes on BBC One, with streaming options available through BBC iPlayer every Monday throughout the duration of the series.
The 24 chefs competing this year bring a diverse range of backgrounds and culinary philosophies to the kitchen. Among the participants are professionals with experience in Michelin-starred establishments, private catering, and various international cuisines. The contestants will face a series of demanding challenges designed to test their ability to perform under pressure while demonstrating their unique culinary identities.
Beyond her television commitments, Galetti continues to share her expertise and personal connection to food through her writing. In her recent work, "Gathering: A Celebration Of Flavours From Polynesia & Beyond," she explores the roots of her culinary inspiration, drawing on childhood memories from her family's plantation in Samoa. She frequently highlights the importance of fresh, vibrant ingredients and the cultural significance of traditional dishes.
Fans of the chef will have the opportunity to see her in person later this year. Galetti and Marcus Wareing are scheduled to appear at the Country Living Christmas Market on Friday, November 13, for an interview and book signing session. The event, held at the Good Housekeeping Kitchen stage, will offer attendees a chance to engage with the judges outside of the competitive kitchen environment.
