Television Highlights: New Swedish Drama and Emotional Tribute on Gone Fishing
Viewers experience a mix of dramatic tension with an upcoming Swedish series and heartfelt television moments honoring a beloved canine cast member.
Television audiences are looking forward to a diverse slate of programming, ranging from gripping international thrillers to emotional documentary series. Among the notable upcoming releases is a new Swedish dramatic thriller titled Trouble Exchange, slated for release in 2026.
Adapted from a novel by Stefan Ahnhem, Trouble Exchange is described as a twisty thriller. The plot centers on two couples facing relationship crises who uncover unsettling truths about their hosts and themselves during a routine house swap.
While scripted dramas capture international interest, factual and lifestyle programming continues to resonate deeply with viewers in the United Kingdom and beyond. The BBC series Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing recently returned for its ninth season, delivering an emotional installment dedicated to a cherished member of its production family.
The second episode of the new season features presenters Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer returning to Norfolk, the very first location where a Patterdale Terrier mix named Ted joined them on the show. Ted, who was owned by executive producer Lisa Clark, passed away in April at the age of 13.
During the episode, which is available to stream on BBC iPlayer and airs on BBC2, the hosts reminisce about their late companion while driving through the countryside. They shared fond memories of the rescue dog, who made his television debut in the third series back in September 2020 and later received a lifetime achievement award during the 2025 Christmas special.
Reflecting on the dog's unique personality during a tea break by the riverbank, Bob Mortimer remarked, "He were grumpy... he had a very generous heart." Paul Whitehouse added, "And that's why we loved him, poor old Teddy."
The heartfelt tribute deeply moved fans of the program, many of whom took to social media to express their sadness and share memories of the canine star. Viewers noted that the episode was a difficult yet touching watch as the series officially said goodbye to a familiar and beloved presence on the riverbank.
