The Las Vegas Raiders defeated the New York Jets 38-33 on Sunday in a Week 8 matchup at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The game featured multiple lead changes and a standout performance from Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins, who recorded three passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown to secure the victory for the visitors.

The scoring started in the first quarter when New York's Jason Sanders kicked a 21-yard field goal. Las Vegas answered when Cousins connected with Brock Bowers for a 12-yard touchdown pass. Sanders added another field goal before the end of the opening period to give the Jets a narrow edge.

The second quarter brought heavy scoring action. Geno Smith threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Williams for the Jets, but the Raiders responded instantly as Dylan Laube returned the ensuing kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown. New York regained the lead later in the quarter with a 12-yard touchdown pass from Smith to Adonai Mitchell, followed by a late field goal by Sanders that brought the halftime score to 23-14 in favor of the hosts.

Las Vegas mounted a comeback in the second half. Cousins threw his second touchdown pass of the day to Bowers early in the third quarter. Although Braelon Allen answered for the Jets with a 21-yard rushing touchdown, Cousins ran 1-yard into the end zone to pull the Raiders within striking distance at 30-28.

The definitive lead change occurred in the fourth quarter when Cousins connected with Jalen Nailor for a 2-yard touchdown. While Sanders kicked another field goal to keep the Jets close, Matt Gay sealed the win for Las Vegas by converting a 53-yard field goal in the final minute of regulation.

Despite the final score, the Jets outgained the Raiders in total yards, recording 439 yards compared to Las Vegas's 333, and notched 26 first downs to the Raiders' 22. However, red zone efficiency proved to be the deciding factor as the Raiders converted all four of their opportunities, whereas the Jets capitalized on only two of six trips.
