The Las Vegas Raiders secured a 38-33 victory against the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium, halting a four-game skid and improving their record as the season reaches its midpoint.

Entering Week 8 with a 3-4 record after opening the year with three straight wins, the Raiders needed a strong performance to quiet mounting questions. Quarterback Kirk Cousins delivered by completing 19 of 26 pass attempts for 247 yards and three touchdowns.

Cousins has now accumulated 19 touchdown passes across eight starts this season, maintaining multi-score performances in seven of those contests. His connection with his receiving corps, featuring Tre Tucker operating as the primary wide receiver alongside elite tight end Brock Bowers, powered the visiting offense.

Bowers played a pivotal role in the victory, hauling in seven catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns. Cousins consistently targeted the standout tight end on critical downs, providing a major boost to the team's passing attack.

The Raiders' offense has averaged 26.1 points per game this season, leaning heavily on the aerial contributions of Tucker and Bowers to offset a struggling rushing game that has occasionally hindered offensive balance.

For the Jets, the narrow defeat drops their record to 2-5 following a previous 28-25 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Quarterback Geno Smith performed efficiently in the matchup, completing 70 percent of his passes, adding 10 touchdowns to just two interceptions on the year, while wide receiver Garrett Wilson remained a primary target.

With the win secured in East Rutherford, the Raiders will look to carry their momentum forward into Week 9 as they prepare for a challenging road matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
