Luka Dončić scored 42 points to lead Los Angeles to a dominant victory over Miami on Monday night at Crypto.com Arena.
The Los Angeles Lakers secured a 136-115 victory against the Miami Heat on Monday night at Crypto.com Arena, putting on a powerful offensive display on the second night of a back-to-back. The win marked the second consecutive victory for the Lakers, who improved their record to 5-2 early in the 2026-27 NBA season.
Los Angeles controlled the game by shooting 56.8 percent from the field and converting 19 three-pointers at a 44.2 percent clip. The Lakers distributed 39 assists on 51 made field goals and controlled the interior, outscoring Miami 58-38 in points in the paint. The purple and gold held a seven-point lead at the end of the first quarter and maintained their advantage into halftime, leading 72-65.
Luka Dončić led the charge for Los Angeles with 42 points, seven rebounds, and 12 assists. Austin Reaves contributed significantly with 27 points and five assists while shooting 10-15 from the field. Additionally, center Walker Kessler recorded a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds.
The Heat, who entered the matchup with a 2-4 record after winning their previous two games, struggled defensively on the road. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo paced Miami's frontcourt, while Klay Thompson also provided perimeter scoring. Despite efforts from the Heat to narrow the deficit throughout the first half, the Lakers' high-powered offense kept them firmly in control.
Ziaire Williams returned to action for the Lakers after missing three games due to a lingering left foot issue managed during the preseason and training camp. Playing off the bench in his first game back from injury, Williams provided nine points and two assists. Adou Thiero remained sidelined due to left knee injury management.
The Lakers gradually extended their lead in the second half, entering the fourth quarter ahead by 18 points. Although Miami attempted a late push behind three-point shooting from Tim Hardaway Jr., Los Angeles maintained its efficiency from beyond the arc. The Lakers eventually cleared their bench with just over a minute remaining to secure the comfortable win.
With the victory concluded, the Lakers will look forward to their next matchup against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, the Heat will continue navigating their early-season schedule as they attempt to build consistency on the road.
