Kelly Reilly Confirms Dutton Ranch Season 2 Filming Schedule
The Yellowstone spin-off has officially secured a second-season renewal at Paramount+.
During a surprise appearance at the Paramount UK Upfronts in London, actress Kelly Reilly officially announced that production for the second season of Dutton Ranch will begin in early 2027. The announcement of the sophomore season renewal for the popular Yellowstone spin-off arrived while two episodes of the inaugural season were still left to stream.
Dutton Ranch follows Reilly's character, Beth Dutton, as she embarks on a fresh start in South Texas alongside a prominent cast that includes Annette Bening, Ed Harris, and Cole Hauser. Reilly previously portrayed the character across five seasons of Yellowstone, which concluded its run in 2024.
Speaking before an audience of executives, advertisers, and journalists at the Royal Academy of Arts, Reilly reflected on the transition from the original series to the new spin-off. She described the project as a risk she is proud they took, taking Beth from the mothership to start a new life in South Texas with lots of snakes.
According to Reilly, the series achieved a massive global audience during its premiere week, pulling in 12.9 million viewers worldwide. Expressing her gratitude for the reception, she noted that she was both surprised and grateful for the worldwide response to the show.
The major programming update was shared just two and a half weeks after the completion of the $110 billion Skydance merger. The London event also served as a showcase for other upcoming projects across the Paramount network.
Among the other highlights presented at the upfronts were first-look images from Laird, an upcoming Jez Butterworth drama set in the modern Scottish Highlands. Actors Kenneth Branagh and Peter Sarsgaard appeared at the event alongside producer David Glasser to discuss the epic family saga, which pits a proud Scot against a shadowy American billionaire.
Paramount also used the showcase to highlight upcoming sports programming, including the international expansion of the Beckham & Friends Champions League series presented by soccer star David Beckham. The network recently secured exclusive Champions League soccer rights in the UK and Germany starting next year through a significant five-year agreement.
As Paramount continues to roll out its slate following the major corporate merger, the early renewal and production timeline for Dutton Ranch underscore the streaming platform's ongoing commitment to expanding its hit television franchises.
