FK Jablonec and Brighton & Hove Albion played to a scoreless draw during the second round of the Conference League league phase, halting the English Premier League side's six-match winning streak. Playing in the Czech Republic, the visitors dominated early possession but failed to break down a resilient home defense.

Manager Fabian Hurzeler made eight changes to his starting lineup following a dominant weekend victory over Crystal Palace, resting several key players including wingers Diego Gomez and Maxim De Cuyper. Goalkeeper Jason Steele also missed the trip due to illness, while veteran defender Lewis Dunk remained on the bench.

Brighton controlled the tempo during the opening period, holding roughly 69 percent of possession. Early efforts from Malick Yalcouyé and Jack Hinshelwood tested goalkeeper Jan Hanus, while Georginio Rutter came closest before halftime by forcing a save and sending another shot narrowly wide of the target.

Jablonec gradually worked their way into the match and mounted serious threats of their own. Antonín Rusek troubled the English defense with a header following a corner kick in the 30th minute, while teammate Saidou Alioum helped orchestrate counterattacks that kept the opposing backline alert.

The visitors thought they had broken the deadlock shortly after the interval when Yalcouyé found the back of the net, but the goal was quickly disallowed for offside. As the second half progressed, the Czech side grew bolder and created dangerous opportunities.

In the 73rd minute, Rusek found himself charging alone toward goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen but hesitated with his finish. Shortly after, Verbruggen made a brilliant save to deny a curling effort from Jiří Sláma toward the top corner. Jablonec missed another golden opportunity in the 85th minute when Martin Cedidla fired wide following a precise pass.

Hurzeler attempted to inject fresh energy into his squad by making four second-half substitutions, removing playmaker Pascal Gross, Hinshelwood, Matt O'Riley, and Olivier Boscagli. However, the visitors struggled to regain their rhythm as tension rose on the pitch, resulting in yellow cards for time-wasting and rough challenges.

The defensive stalemate extends Brighton's run to five consecutive clean sheets across competitions, while Jablonec successfully preserved their unbeaten home record in European matches. Hurzeler and his squad headed straight back to Lancing to prepare for their upcoming Premier League fixture against Liverpool.
