Heidi Klum Unveils Severed Hand Costume for 2026 Halloween Party

Supermodel and television host Heidi Klum continued her tradition of elaborate holiday transformations by arriving at her annual Halloween party dressed as a life-sized severed left hand. The event took place on Saturday, October 31, at Cathédrale Restaurant inside the Moxy East Village in New York City.

Klum's costume featured intricate details replicating her own anatomy, including fine palm lines, veins, long red fingernails, and an oversized replica of her wedding and engagement rings. Her face peeked out near the bloodied wrist, which was designed with gruesome prosthetics, tendons, ligaments, and bone to simulate a fresh amputation. The design also incorporated a tattoo of her husband's name on the ring finger.

Speaking on the blue carpet, Klum noted that bringing the concept to life required months of preparation and a team of specialists. "I had this idea already last year, and they've been stewing on figuring out how to get me into this hand," she said, adding that it took about five to six hours to get suited up and proved physically demanding to carry due to its weight.

Her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, missed this year's festivities because he was away on tour with his band, Tokio Hotel. Klum joked on the red carpet that she wished he could have been there to form a matching pair. "I thought this would have been a great couple's costume, because if my husband could have been here he could have been the other hand," she remarked.

Despite his absence, Klum ensured her husband remained part of the theme by writing his name inside the costume's ring finger. Her 22-year-old daughter, Leni Klum, attended the event dressed as Miss Piggy and praised her mother's latest look. "To see it in person is so much cooler," Leni Klum said of the elaborate creation.

Known widely as the Queen of Halloween, Klum has a history of ambitious and unconventional costumes that frequently rely on extensive special-effects makeup and prosthetics. Her past outfits include a giant earthworm in 2022, a detailed peacock in 2023, the alien character E.T. in 2024, and a scaly green Medusa in 2025.

Klum explained that she begins planning her looks well in advance and maintains total creative control over the final designs. Reflecting on the dedication required for her annual parties, she emphasized her commitment to the holiday, recalling that she even attended past celebrations straight after a three-day hospital stay.
