Amusement Parks Launch Halloween Events and New Reference Guide Published for Knitters
Amusement parks across the region introduce themed Halloween attractions, while a comprehensive knitting guide returns in a new edition.
Amusement parks across the region have officially transitioned into the Halloween season, offering visitors a variety of themed attractions, spooky zones, and specialized food menus through early November.
At Park Sënnesräich in Lullange, operations are running from Tuesday through Sunday until November 8. The venue, traditionally dedicated to the five senses, features specific festive activities including the Laboorinthe treasure hunt, where participants assist a veterinarian in curing safari animals affected by a mysterious spell.
Visitors at Park Sënnesräich can also ride the Halloween Express, which passes through dark tunnels designed to resemble the mouths of large animals. The park's food offerings feature themed items such as horror burgers, bloody mummies, pumpkin or skull pizzas, bat muffins, severed finger cake pops, and monster donuts.
Meanwhile, Walibi Belgium in Wavre has transformed parts of its grounds into a parallel universe named Ibilaw, remaining open until November 11. The destination features four haunted houses and four horror zones aimed at thrill-seekers, alongside a daily closing parade known as Bill's Procession.
Walibi Belgium notes on its website that the property remains accessible to all visitors, explaining that the frightening experiences are isolated within designated areas.
Additional celebrations are underway at Plopsaland Ardennes in Stavelot, Belgium, where visitors can experience Halloween alongside the Smurfs until November 8. Characters from Studio 100 don costumes for the occasion, while Gargamel and his cat Azraël wander the grounds.
Plopsaland Deutschland in Haßloch is hosting its Halloween Fright Nights for ten nights, featuring nine horror attractions, three scare zones, and six haunted houses, accompanied by live shows, music, and monster meet-and-greets.
In unrelated publishing news, a practical reference guide for handicraft enthusiasts titled "L'Essentiel des points de tricot" was published by Éditions Eyrolles on September 7, 2023. Authored by the collective Les devenirs visuels, the 176-page book serves as an aide-mémoire for knitters.
Building on a previous 2016 edition, the updated 2023 book begins with the foundational knit and purl stitches, offering step-by-step instructions for over 100 selected motifs accompanied by more than 250 photographs and practical project recommendations.
