Heidi Klum Unveils Gory Severed Hand Costume for 2026 Halloween Party
The supermodel and host debuted her most gruesome transformation yet at her annual New York City celebration.
Supermodel and television host Heidi Klum continued her tradition of elaborate Halloween transformations by debuting a life-sized, severed manicured hand on Saturday, October 31, at Cathédrale in New York City. Marking her 25th annual Halloween party, the 53-year-old star revealed a look that featured blood-soaked tendons, exposed tissue, and a gory gash at the wrist where her face emerged.
Klum's legs served as two of the fingers on the massive hand, which was adorned with red-painted fingernails, gold rings, and a replica of her actual wedding and engagement rings. The design also incorporated her palm lines, veins, and a tattoo of her husband Tom Kaulitz's name on her ring finger, ensuring a personal touch despite his absence from the event due to a music tour.
The preparation for the heavy costume required months of planning and a team of professionals. Klum stated that the idea originated last year after she looked at her own hand and wondered if she could fit her body inside the shape. A crew of workers spent months building and painting the design, while approximately 10 to 15 people helped her get into the final look on the day of the party.
Entering the venue, Klum was surrounded by helpers wearing blood-stained hazmat suits. She walked with her eyes and mouth barely visible through the viscera, with blood dripping from her mouth as she stuck her tongue out. Getting into the costume on the night of the event took between five and six hours, adding to her history of demanding holiday transformations.
Daughter Leni Klum attended the celebration dressed as a glamorous Miss Piggy, wearing a purple feather boa, pearls, and a pink snout. She praised her mother's costume in an interview, noting that seeing the elaborate creation in person was wild and expressing appreciation for the inclusion of the wedding ring in the design.
Klum's husband, Tom Kaulitz, missed the festivities because he was on tour, though Klum joked that he could have played the other hand if he had been present. Previous outfits from the Halloween queen include a scaly green Medusa in 2025, an elaborate version of E.T. in 2024, a peacock in 2023, and a giant worm in 2022.
