Federal police officers at Cologne Bonn Airport successfully intervened during a critical medical emergency, reportedly saving the life of a 44-year-old female traveler. The incident occurred at the airport when the woman collapsed suddenly just before entering the security checkpoint.

The traveler was traveling with her four children on their way to Vienna when she became completely unresponsive and suffered a cardiac arrest. Law enforcement personnel stationed at the checkpoint immediately recognized the severe medical situation, initiated the emergency response chain, and began administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The officers performed chest compressions and resuscitation efforts for approximately six minutes until professional medical responders arrived at the scene. Emergency crews continued the life-saving procedures, and after stabilizing her condition, they transported the woman to a hospital in Cologne for further medical treatment.

While medical personnel attended to the mother, the federal police cared for her four children. Officers looked after the youngsters in the inspection unit's service rooms at the Cologne Bonn Airport inspectorate until they could be safely handed over to their father.

Following the successful operation, airport firefighters informed the police officers that the woman had survived the medical crisis. The swift response from law enforcement and medical teams proved critical in preventing a fatal outcome during the busy travel evening.

In a separate regional development in North Rhine-Westphalia, local authorities have launched a murder commission following a shooting incident in Bergneustadt. A 63-year-old man was severely injured after being struck by three bullets during a verbal altercation while walking his dogs.

Police and prosecutors reported that the victim sustained serious, though non-life-threatening, injuries to his legs and was admitted to a hospital for inpatient care. Authorities have identified a 26-year-old local resident as the primary suspect, though an ongoing manhunt supported by a police helicopter has yet to locate him.
