French National Lottery Holds Special Halloween Draw with Boosted Jackpot
The Française des Jeux held a special Halloween draw featuring an increased starting jackpot of 10 million euros.
The Française des Jeux (FDJ) held its special Halloween lottery draw on Saturday, October 31, 2026, offering players a boosted jackpot starting at 10 million euros. Typically, the standard weekly draws feature a jackpot that begins at 2 million euros and increases by 1 million euros per draw if there is no top-tier winner.
For this special Halloween event, the winning numbers drawn for the main jackpot were 7, 21, 32, 33, and 40, with the Lucky Number (numéro Chance) being 9. In addition to the main drawing, the secondary drawing featured the numbers 19, 20, 22, 25, and 30, with its prize amount also boosted from 100,000 to 1 million euros for players matching five numbers without the Lucky Number.
The FDJ noted that if no participant won the main 10-million-euro prize on Saturday night, the jackpot would continue to climb by 1 million euros for each subsequent drawing. Furthermore, the special Halloween event included a raffle format where every registered simple grid received a unique code. Ten of these codes were randomly selected to award 20,000 euros each.
Participating in the draw required players to select five numbers from a grid ranging between 1 and 49, alongside a single Lucky Number from 1 to 10. A standard single grid costs 2.20 euros, and participants could validate their entries online through the official FDJ website, via the mobile application available for Android and iOS devices, or in person at authorized retail locations.
For participants who did not match all six primary numbers, the FDJ provided a prize breakdown chart on its digital platform. Players who successfully matched only the Lucky Number or a single additional number received a reimbursement equal to the price of a single grid at 2.20 euros. Claiming higher prize tiers required matching at least three numbers plus the supplementary number to secure 50 euros.
While some participants study historical frequencies or look for dormant numbers to place on their grids, lottery operators remind the public that every draw remains entirely independent. Statistics from past events do not alter the mathematical probability of any specific combination appearing, and the lottery functions purely as a game of chance.
Regulatory authorities and gaming operators emphasize that gambling involves financial and personal risks, including potential monetary losses, family conflicts, and addiction. In compliance with legal regulations, participation in these games of chance is strictly prohibited for individuals under the age of 18, both online and in retail locations.
