Former Paris Saint-Germain player Aminata Diallo has been ordered to stand trial before the correctional tribunal in Versailles, according to a court order issued on Friday, November 6. Diallo is suspected of masterminding the violent attack against her former teammate Kheira Hamraoui in November 2021.

The investigative judge formally charged Diallo with complicity in aggravated voluntary violence and criminal association. While she did not directly participate in the physical beating, the magistrate determined that she orchestrated the plot and guided the attackers to the scene.

The incident occurred on November 4, 2021, in Chatou, in the Yvelines department, as the two athletes were returning from a team dinner. Two masked men dragged Hamraoui from a vehicle and struck her legs repeatedly with iron bars while Diallo was present.

Six other individuals were also ordered to stand trial for their alleged involvement in the case. Among them is César Mavacala, a sports agent who represented several Parisian players, who will face charges for the unauthorized practice of a sports agent's activity.

However, the investigative magistrate dismissed extortion and organized gang fraud charges against Mavacala, concluding that the investigation lacked sufficient evidence of threats or coercion to constitute those specific crimes. Sandrine Pégand, an attorney representing Mavacala, welcomed the decision, calling it a major ruling that removes the most severe allegations against her client.

Legal representatives for Kheira Hamraoui expressed immense relief upon the conclusion of the lengthy judicial investigation. Following five long years of inquiry, attorneys Julia Minkowski and Saïd Harir stated that the upcoming trial will finally bring the full truth to light regarding this extraordinary case of sports-related violence and the unacceptable smear campaign that targeted the victim after the assault.

The Versailles prosecutor's office announced that a specific date for the courtroom proceedings has not yet been scheduled.
