Curry and Warriors Overcome Draymond Green Ejection to Beat Suns

Golden State secured a 116-113 victory over Phoenix as Stephen Curry scored 34 points following a chaotic third-quarter altercation involving Draymond Green and Dillon Brooks.

The Golden State Warriors extended their winning streak to five games with a hard-fought 116-113 victory against the Phoenix Suns at Chase Center. The contest was overshadowed by a physical third-quarter confrontation that resulted in the 23rd regular-season ejection of veteran forward Draymond Green's career.

The escalation began just two minutes into the second half when Phoenix center Khaman Maluach knocked Green to the floor in the paint. Green immediately rose, wrapped his arms around Maluach, and brought him down to the court. While officials whistled the initial foul, the situation deteriorated rapidly as Suns forward Dillon Brooks rushed to defend his teammate.

Green and Brooks engaged in a heated shoving match, during which the Warriors forward placed a hand around Brooks' neck. Following an extensive video review, officials assessed technical fouls to multiple players. Green received his second technical foul of the sequence, triggering an automatic ejection after logging just 17 minutes with four points, four rebounds, and two assists.

The Suns broadcast team heavily criticized the play, calling it dangerous. Meanwhile, the animosity between Green and Brooks is well-documented, stemming from years of physical play and high technical foul counts. Last season, Brooks led the NBA in technical fouls while Green finished third.

Despite the turbulence, Golden State managed to rally behind an exceptional performance from Stephen Curry. The star guard scored 18 of his game-high 34 points in the third quarter alone, finishing the night with six rebounds and seven assists to keep the Warriors competitive while trailing.

The game featured further physical altercations, including a fourth-quarter skirmish near the baseline between Charles Bassey and Miles Bridges that required security intervention. Bassey stepped up significantly in Green's absence, contributing a career-high 19 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

Devin Booker led the Phoenix offense with 26 points and five assists before fouling out late in the fourth quarter. However, the Warriors completed their comeback to seal the 116-113 win, moving forward in the standings as they prepare to host the Miami Heat.
