Celebrities Join Forces on M6 for the Giant Escape Game Wanted
Sixteen well-known figures take part in a high-stakes cross-country manhunt without money or phones in a format adapted from the Netherlands.
A major real-life game show has captured the attention of television viewers in France as sixteen celebrities embark on a massive cross-country escape. Titled Wanted: Catch Me If You Can!, the program airs on M6 and features participants split into eight pairs attempting to evade capture for four days.
The premise of the competition requires the participating duos to travel, eat, and find shelter entirely without money or mobile phones. Relying on ingenuity and occasional assistance from passersby, the contestants must navigate the challenges of being on the run while avoiding detection.
Pursuing them across the country is a team of three designated hunters: content creator Michou, former world champion soccer player Adil Rami, and comedian Issa Doumbia. Armed with periodic GPS data, the trio works to close in on the fugitives.
The celebrity lineup spans a diverse group of personalities, including Pascal Légitimus, Léa François, Rachel Legrain-Trapani, Élodie Gossuin, Samuel Etienne, Ryan Bensetti, Stomy Bugsy, Christine Bravo, Philippe Lucas, and Jeremstar. Different strategies emerge among the duos as they try to outsmart their pursuers.
Viewers also play an active role in the progression of the game. A dedicated telephone number allows the public to report sightings of the fugitives to the production, generating a high volume of calls that directly impacts the participants' chances of remaining hidden.
The format is a French adaptation of a successful Dutch concept that has also seen broadcast success in other international markets, such as Hungary. As the competition progresses, the pressure intensifies for the remaining duos still on the run.
