M6 Launches New Reality Game Show 'Wanted, Catch Me If You Can'
Sixteen celebrities attempt to evade pursuers including Adil Rami, Michou, and Issa Doumbia across France in a new interactive television event.
M6 has launched its new event game show titled "Wanted, Catch Me If You Can," featuring sixteen well-known personalities participating in a large-scale game of hide-and-seek across France. The program is hosted by internet star Michou, comedian Issa Doumbia, and former professional soccer player Adil Rami, who serve as the primary guardians tracking down the contestants.
The format places sixteen celebrities into eight pairs, starting from a fictional prison in Amiens. Stripped of money, phones, and guaranteed housing, the contestants must rely entirely on the generosity of strangers for food, transportation, and shelter during a four-day manhunt. Meanwhile, the guardians utilize advanced technology, vehicles, and tips provided by viewers to locate and capture the fugitives.
The television event introduces an interactive element that allows the public to influence the outcome during filming. French viewers were given a dedicated phone number and social media hashtags to either assist the fleeing celebrities or provide clues to the guardians. Although the show airs in a delayed broadcast format, this real-time community involvement during the initial recording adds significant unpredictability to the competition.
The diverse celebrity lineup features pairings such as journalists Samuel Étienne and Océane Amsler, actors Pascal Légitimus and Léa François, and television personalities Jeremstar and Philippe Lucas. Additional participants include Christine Bravo, Stomy Bugsy, Rachel Legrain-Trapani, Élodie Gossuin, Rayane Bensetti, Farès Salvatore, Studio Danielle members Arthur Lombard and Danielle Renault, alongside Nicolas Waldorf and Yoan Louis.
The first elimination took place during the premiere episode, as Pascal Légitimus and Léa François became the initial duo captured by the guardians. Léa François explained that their elimination resulted from an elaborate trap orchestrated by a local resident connected to the production team. After accepting what they believed was a friendly ride from a bystander, the pair was delivered straight to the guardians' van.
"We felt betrayed!" Léa François said regarding the sudden ambush, noting that Michou later embraced the driver and praised his efforts after the capture. According to the participants, the guardians even contacted the driver's employer to secure a brief release so he could complete the setup.
The production bridges traditional broadcast television with modern digital content creation, notably featuring Samuel Étienne, who balanced the intense physical pursuit with his regular streaming commitments. M6 broadcasts the episodes on Thursday evenings, offering free streaming replays on its online platform alongside behind-the-scenes footage detailing the challenges faced by the participants during their four-day escape.
