Sydney Sweeney Unveils Holiday Lingerie Campaign and Expands Film Slate

The actress recreates iconic holiday cinema moments for her apparel line while filming the sequel to her box office hit The Housemaid.

Actress and entrepreneur Sydney Sweeney launched a new holiday promotional campaign for her apparel company, Syrn, drawing inspiration from the 1990 family comedy Home Alone. The playful social media release arrives amid a packed professional schedule for Sweeney, who has simultaneously been seen on set in New Jersey filming The Housemaid's Secret, the forthcoming sequel to her box office thriller The Housemaid.

The promotional video for Syrn features Sweeney recreating recognizable sequences originally performed by Macaulay Culkin's character, Kevin McCallister. In the opening moments, Sweeney stands before a bathroom mirror in a navy knit top and cropped cardigan, splashing liquid onto her cheeks before letting out a dramatic scream. Other scenes show her enjoying a towering whipped-cream sundae and looking alarmed at a shadowy figure behind a window curtain while holding a small dog.

The ad marks the release of the Hibernation Nation collection under Syrn's The Holiday Shop, which opened early access on October 27. The line showcases loungewear and knitwear pieces, including foldover cable-knit micro shorts, matching cropped tanks, crewnecks, and knit cardigans offered in color palettes named Sugar Cookie, Evening Blue, and Wine About It. A knit pet sweater worn by the small white dog in the advertisement is also listed among the brand's offerings. Sweeney established Syrn in January to produce lingerie and loungewear catered to a range of body shapes.

While Sweeney's nod to Home Alone drew enthusiastic responses from many online followers, the broader holiday rollout has faced varied reactions. Earlier promotional visuals released by the brand drew inspiration from classic seasonal stories like The Nightmare Before Christmas and Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Some social media users expressed disapproval of Sweeney's styling as Cindy Lou Who, arguing that a traditionally innocent children's character should not have been portrayed in an adult, provocative fashion.

Alongside her commercial enterprise, Sweeney is actively expanding her Hollywood portfolio. Production is underway in Hoboken, New Jersey, for The Housemaid's Secret, where Sweeney was recently photographed filming outdoor scenes in a floral dress and white cardigan opposite co-star Stephen Kalyn. Sweeney reprises her leading role as Millie Calloway, while Michele Morrone returns as Enzo in the Lionsgate production directed by Paul Feig.

The sequel builds upon the commercial success of The Housemaid, which amassed more than $400 million at the global box office. The upcoming adaptation of Freida McFadden's follow-up novel has added actors Kirsten Dunst, Brittany Snow, and Paul Anthony Kelly to the cast, though the return of original co-star Amanda Seyfried has not been confirmed. The film is officially slated to debut in theaters on December 17, 2027.

Sweeney's current workload continues a pattern of high-profile feature projects across theatrical releases and streaming platforms. Her recent credits include Ron Howard's historical thriller Eden, starring Jude Law, Vanessa Kirby, Daniel Brühl, and Ana de Armas, as well as past releases like Reality and The Voyeurs. Sweeney has also wrapped filming on Josie Rourke's The Custom of the Country and is attached to a Netflix Gundam feature alongside Noah Centineo.
