German public broadcaster ZDF has officially announced that "The Great Christmas Show with Giovanni Zarrella" will air on Thursday, December 3, 2026. The festive holiday special will be broadcast live in free television starting at 8:15 PM from the Baden-Arena in Offenburg. Alongside musical performances and entertainment, the live television program aims to support charitable causes by encouraging viewers to donate during the broadcast.

The format will present a mix of national and international artists spanning schlager, pop, and classical music. Alongside established performers, the production will provide a platform for emerging talents. The show is known for bespoke musical arrangements, unique collaborations, and special stage performances developed exclusively for the television audience.

Host Giovanni Zarrella has established a prominent television career following his early success in the music industry. Born in Hechingen in 1978 to Italian immigrant parents, he rose to fame in 2001 as a member of the casting band Bro'Sis before transitioning to a successful solo career centered around Italian-influenced schlager and pop music. In early 2026, he was honored with the Polyton music award in the schlager category.

Tickets for the live studio recording in Offenburg are available through the ZDF ticket service, with prices ranging from 15 to 50 euros. In addition to the linear television broadcast, the network confirmed that the show will be available to stream for free concurrently through the official ZDF media library.

ZDF plans to support the broadcast with a robust digital presence across multiple online platforms. Supplementary content, exclusive backstage footage, and selected performance clips will be shared on the network's official website as well as on Instagram and YouTube. Viewers will also have opportunities to participate interactively through online voting and digital greetings.

While the broadcaster has not yet confirmed plans for a linear television rebroadcast, the complete recording will remain accessible to stream on-demand in the digital media library for an extended period following the live event.
