West Ham United announced the departure of head coach Nuno Espirito Santo on Tuesday following a disappointing start to their campaign in the English Championship. The club confirmed that assistant manager Rui Pedro Silva and goalkeeping coach Rui Barbosa have also left their positions with immediate effect.

The decision comes after a thorough review by the club's board, who deemed a managerial change necessary to keep the team aligned with its promotion goals. Consecutive home defeats against Southampton and West Bromwich Albion dropped the London side to eighth place in the standings after 13 matches.

Nuno failed to save West Ham from relegation from the Premier League last season, and the board has made an immediate return to the top flight the absolute priority. Following the Portuguese manager's exit, the club moved rapidly to secure a replacement.

Reports indicate that West Ham has already agreed terms with Scott Parker to take over as the new head coach. The 46-year-old emerged as the frontrunner for the position due to his strong track record of winning promotion to the Premier League with multiple clubs.

Parker is a familiar figure to West Ham supporters, having previously won the club's Player of the Year award multiple times during a four-year playing career. The board believes his deep understanding of the club culture will resonate well with the fanbase.

The transition is happening on a tight schedule, as the club hopes to have Parker in place in time for their upcoming match against Cardiff City. Meanwhile, Mark Noble, Steve Potts, and Gerard Prenderville have overseen preparations for the fixture.

Additionally, former teammate Mark Noble could join Parker's backroom coaching staff. Noble, who has been serving as sporting director at the London Stadium, would bring further historical ties into the dugout if the appointment is finalized.
