Birmingham City secured a 3-1 victory against Lincoln City in the Sky Bet Championship match at the ProAmpac Stadium on Saturday. August Priske led the charge for the visitors by scoring twice, helping his side return to winning ways following a recent defeat to Cardiff City.

The match began with a hectic opening quarter of an hour that featured several near misses. Alex Cochrane fired an early effort wide for Birmingham inside the first four minutes, before Lincoln responded when Mikkel Ladefoged hit a low shot that bounced off the goal frame and away to safety.

Birmingham broke the deadlock shortly afterward through an unfortunate defensive mistake. A Blues pass was inadvertently deflected toward his own goal by Lincoln midfielder Yunus Konak, landing straight at the feet of Priske near the edge of the penalty area. The Danish forward swivelled and fired a low shot into the bottom corner to open the scoring.

Tempers flared around the half-hour mark when Birmingham's Ethan Laird attempted to control a clearance on the right wing, catching Lincoln forward Ben House in the face. Referee Lewis Smith issued a yellow card for the challenge, allowing Laird to remain on the pitch.

Lincoln goalkeeper James Beadle made several crucial saves before halftime, including denying Dom Jefferies and palming Deji Elewere's close-range effort onto the crossbar. However, Beadle was replaced by former Lincoln goalkeeper Ryan Allsopp at the start of the second half.

Birmingham doubled their advantage on the hour mark when a long throw into the box was flicked on, allowing Priske to slide in and poke the ball past goalkeeper George Wickens. Lincoln quickly reduced the deficit just three minutes later when substitute Tom Bayliss arrowed a shot into the corner of the net following a layoff from Ladefoged.

Any hopes of a Lincoln comeback were dashed in the 73rd minute when Cochrane was afforded too much space in the center of the pitch. The midfielder advanced forward and planted a left-footed shot past Wickens to restore Birmingham's two-goal cushion at 3-1.

Despite late attempts from both sides, including a blocked shot from Jay Stansfield and a missed opportunity by Demarai Gray, the scoreline remained unchanged. The result strengthens Birmingham's position in the upper half of the Championship table.
