A fatal street assault in Saint-Gaudens has left a local community in deep shock following the death of Jose Capela Nsimundele, a well-known proprietor who managed two popular establishments in the area. The incident occurred during the early morning hours on a weekend in late October, when an altercation originally sparked inside a local cafe spilled out onto the public roadway.

According to investigators, the confrontation began when the victim attempted to expel an individual belonging to the local traveler community from his establishment. The situation escalated rapidly when two family members of the ejected customer intervened, pursuing the sixty-something business owner near the National Square before a violent physical confrontation took place.

Emergency responders found the victim on the ground and bleeding severely. He was transported for medical care but succumbed to his injuries less than forty-eight hours later. Local authorities noted that the public prosecutor's office explicitly ruled out a racist motive in the days following the tragic event.

Two days after the merchant's death, two male suspects aged 23 and 30 turned themselves in at a local police station. Both men, who belong to the traveler community and reside permanently in Saint-Gaudens, were taken into custody and subsequently transferred to a judicial judge in Toulouse for formal investigation regarding violence resulting in unintended death.

During police questioning, the older suspect reportedly assumed full responsibility for the fatal blow. Investigators indicated that the 30-year-old claimed he delivered a single punch that caused the victim to collapse instantly, while the younger suspect allegedly played only a peripheral role in the altercation. These statements remain subject to official confirmation through ongoing judicial inquiries.

In the wake of the tragedy, local residents and merchants organized multiple public tributes to honor the memory of the popular merchant. A white march was scheduled in the town center near the venues he operated, followed by a second commemorative walk organized by his family near the local railway station to demand justice and express growing community concerns regarding local violence.
