Tenerife and FC Andorra Match Suspended After Terrifying Collusion
The LaLiga Hypermotion encounter ended in a 2-2 draw after being halted in stoppage time due to a severe injury suffered by Tenerife forward Jesús de Miguel.
The LaLiga Hypermotion match between CD Tenerife and FC Andorra at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium concluded in a dramatic 2-2 draw, though the final score was completely overshadowed by a distressing incident in stoppage time. The contest was abandoned after Tenerife forward Jesús de Miguel suffered a heavy collision that left him unconscious on the field.
The match had seen a thrilling back-and-forth action earlier in the game. Tenerife opened the scoring just three minutes into the first half when Christian Gomis capitalized on a pass from Enric Gallego to fire a right-footed shot past goalkeeper Jesús Owono. Right before halftime, Tenerife extended their lead to 2-0 after Enric Gallego successfully converted a penalty kick following a foul committed inside the box by Martí Vilà on Noel López.
FC Andorra shifted the momentum during the second half after tactical changes from the coaching staff. In the 83rd minute, a VAR review resulted in a penalty for the visitors due to a handball by Neal Viereck, which Lautaro de León converted to narrow the deficit. Shortly after, Tenerife goalkeeper Dani Martín received two quick yellow cards and was sent off in the 85th minute, leaving the hosts playing with a man down.
The visiting side capitalized on their numerical advantage during the eight minutes of stoppage time. In the 88th minute, Stefan Golubovic scored with a header into the right corner following a cross from Lautaro Spatz, tying the match at 2-2.
The atmosphere turned grim in the final moments of the game during a defensive clearance near the midfield. Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono rushed out of his penalty box to halt a counterattack and delivered a violent collision into Jesús de Miguel, catching him with a forceful blow to the chest. De Miguel dropped instantly to the turf, losing consciousness and prompting immediate panic among players and spectators alike.
Medical personnel rushed onto the pitch to stabilize the player during a tense sequence that lasted several minutes. De Miguel was placed on a stretcher, taken out of the stadium, and evacuated by a medical ambulance to a nearby hospital, escorted by club officials and medical staff as fans watched in profound concern.
Following consultations with team captains and coaches, the referee officially decided to suspend the match. In the aftermath, CD Tenerife announced that fans who purchased tickets for the game and are unable to attend the rescheduled date can request ticket refunds through the club's designated online and physical procedures before the deadline.
