The renowned wedding planner and television host shared the news of her split from her partner of nearly three decades in a heartfelt social media post.
Television personality and wedding planner Élodie Villemus announced her separation from the father of her daughters after spending 27 years together. Known by the public for her work on television programs such as "Quatre mariages pour une lune de miel" and her presentation duties for the French lottery draws on TF1, Villemus shared the personal milestone with her followers.
Usually private about her personal life, the 46-year-old host took to her Instagram account on Sunday, November 1, to reveal the end of their relationship. In a detailed message, she reflected on the long journey she shared with her partner, with whom she has two daughters, Mila and Lou.
"After 27 years of life together, our paths, with the father of my daughters, are separating," she wrote. Villemus emphasized that a story can never be summarized solely by the way it comes to an end, choosing instead to honor the decades they spent building a life together.
Reflecting on the duration of their relationship, the television host noted that 27 years represents a significant portion of her life filled with memories, projects, plenty of laughter, and shared hardships. She also credited her former partner for supporting her personal ambitions and contributing to the success of her professional projects.
Furthermore, Villemus expressed deep gratitude for what she considers the greatest gifts of her life. "He accompanied my ambitions, contributed to the success of my projects, and above all, he offered me the two most wonderful gifts of my life: my daughters," she stated in her online message.
Looking toward the future, the host offered words of encouragement to other women navigating similar life transitions. She emphasized that reaching the conclusion of a chapter does not mean the end of one's personal journey, maintaining an optimistic outlook as she enters her mid-forties.
Choosing to keep the specific circumstances of the breakup private, Villemus stated that the remainder of the matter belongs to their shared intimacy. "At 46 years old, I am not looking at what is ending. I am looking at all that I still have left to live," she shared, expressing immense confidence in the future while honoring her past.
