Aurora Ramazzotti Discusses Past Insecurities on Dancing with the Stars

Her emotional revelations on the Italian dance competition sparked debate among the judges regarding jealousy and relationships.

Aurora Ramazzotti opened up about her past struggles with intense jealousy and personal insecurities during an emotional appearance on the television program Dancing with the Stars. Competing alongside dance partner Nikita Perotti, she shared details with the audience about the early years of her relationship with her now-husband, Goffredo Cerza, on the October 31 broadcast.

The daughter of singer Eros Ramazzotti and television host Michelle Hunziker explained that a threatening incident early in their relationship forced her to alter her daily routine. Because Cerza was living in London at the time, the distance compounded her distress, and she recalled having to employ a bodyguard for over two years while largely confined to her home.

Ramazzotti described the overwhelming physical anxiety she experienced during that period, noting that it felt like a heavy weight in her chest. Although her partner never gave her any reasons to distrust him, she realized her intense feelings required professional intervention. "He never made me feel like I was wrong. Then I went to therapy, I understood that this situation was more about me than the other person," she stated, adding that Cerza ultimately encouraged her to seek help because she could not manage the emotions on her own.

The personal confession, however, led to an on-air debate when judge Guillermo Mariotto suggested that her dance partner should find a way to make Cerza jealous to add more drama to the performance. The remark quickly drew criticism from fellow panelists and other figures on the show.

Rossella Erra immediately distanced herself from the suggestion, emphasizing the importance of respecting families since Ramazzotti has a husband and child waiting at home. Barbara D'Urso also rebuked Mariotto, calling his comment outdated and out of place, while head judge Carolyn Smith defended the purity of the dance and the genuine chemistry between the competitors.

Beyond her relationship revelations, Ramazzotti has previously shared that she began therapy at the age of seven following the separation of her parents. Reflecting on her journey as both a child of divorce and a young mother, she noted that returning to these personal challenges has provided her with a renewed perspective on handling insecurity.
