Swedish Crown Princess Victoria Wears Wedding Ring Again After Allergy Break

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden has been spotted wearing her engagement and wedding rings once more after a temporary removal due to a contact allergy.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden has recently been spotted wearing her engagement and wedding rings again, putting to rest months of public speculation regarding her marriage to Prince Daniel. For several months, photographs of the royal at public engagements showed her left ring finger bare, sparking widespread rumors about a potential marital crisis.

According to reports from the Swedish magazine Svensk Damtidning, the true reason behind the missing jewelry was far less dramatic, stemming instead from a contact allergy. The condition can cause skin irritation and contact dermatitis when precious metals remain in direct contact with the skin for extended periods, a problem that is frequently exacerbated by warm temperatures and foreign travel.

While the Swedish royal court has not issued an official statement regarding the health issue, recent photographs confirm that both rings have returned to her finger. Together, the engagement ring—featuring a 1.5-carat diamond set in white gold—and the platinum eternity ring, which is studded with 25 brilliant-cut diamonds, carry an estimated value of around 300,000 Swedish kronor.

The journey to their marriage began years before their wedding day, following their initial meeting at Prince Daniel's exclusive fitness studio. After keeping their relationship secret for a time, the romance eventually became public, though it initially faced skepticism from parts of the royal family, including Crown Princess Victoria's father, King Carl XVI Gustaf, due to Daniel's commoner background.

Through his grounded and dutiful demeanor, Prince Daniel gradually dispelled those early reservations. The couple became engaged in February 2009 after a romantic proposal on the love path near Drottningholm Palace, and they were officially married on June 19, 2010, at Stockholm Cathedral.

During their wedding ceremony, Prince Daniel addressed the public expectations tied to his new role, pledging to support his wife and ensure her happiness. Over the past 16 years, the couple has welcomed two children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, and established their family home at Haga Palace in Solna.

Meanwhile, as Crown Princess Victoria resumed wearing her rings, another Swedish individual named Daniel made international headlines under entirely different circumstances. A 25-year-old Swedish citizen who had spent weeks stranded without money, identification, or clear memories at the airport in Naples, Italy, successfully reconnected with his family following assistance from local social workers, the Naples municipal administration, and consular officials.
