A joyous Sunday afternoon match in Norway turned into a sudden nightmare when a temporary section of a stadium stand collapsed, sending spectators tumbling into a void. The incident occurred around the 40th minute of the top-flight encounter between Tromso and Bodo Glimt at Alfheim Stadium.

According to the communications manager for Bodo Glimt, Simen Pedersen, up to five fans fell through the structural fracture of the scaffolding-style stand while jumping along to a supporters' chant. One injured fan required immediate transport to a hospital, while others were evaluated at the scene.

The unfolding emergency went initially unnoticed by match officials until Bodo Glimt goalkeeper Nikita Haikin made frantic gestures toward the referee, whose goal was positioned directly opposite the collapsed section. The referee promptly halted the game to allow emergency medical personnel and law enforcement to intervene.

Stadium announcers instructed visiting supporters to evacuate the area immediately to clear a path for emergency vehicles. Players from both squads were directed back to the locker rooms as safety officials secured the affected zone.

A television commentator for the national broadcaster described the event as an incredible tragedy and raised serious concerns regarding stadium safety standards at Alfheim Stadium in Tromso. Club officials confirmed that after the area was secured and evacuated, the match eventually resumed in an empty stadium.

Authorities and club representatives stated that further investigations are underway to determine the exact causes of the structural failure, while inquiries continue into the height of the fall and the full extent of the injuries sustained.
