Staff Selection Commission Releases CGL Tier-1 Exam Answer Key

The Staff Selection Commission has officially released the provisional answer key for the Combined Graduate Level Examination Tier-1. The examination took place nationwide across various designated centers starting from September 30 through October 28, 2026. Following the conclusion of the testing period, candidates who participated in the recruitment drive can now review the tentative answer key to estimate their potential scores.

Along with the tentative answer key, the commission has also made the candidates' individual response sheets available on its official website. Applicants must use their login credentials, including their registration number and password, to access and download these documents. Authorities have emphasized that the response sheets and provisional answer keys will only be accessible online for a limited time and will not be provided through alternative channels once the window closes.

Candidates who identify discrepancies or wish to challenge any of the answers provided by the commission can submit their objections online. The objection window opened on November 4 at 9:00 p.m. and will remain active until November 7, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. To register a challenge, applicants must pay a fee of 50 rupees per question. The commission noted that objections submitted after the specified deadline or through unauthorized methods will not be evaluated.

Applicants are advised to review the detailed guidelines related to the challenge and objection management system before submitting their claims. To raise an objection, candidates must log into the portal, select the specific question they wish to challenge, and provide the necessary factual information and supporting documentation to validate their claim.

Looking ahead in the selection timeline, the Staff Selection Commission plans to announce the results for the CGL Tier-1 examination later in November 2026. Only candidates who successfully clear the first tier of the examination will be eligible to advance to the Tier-2 examination, which is currently scheduled to take place in December 2026. Aspirants are encouraged to monitor the official portal regularly for any further updates regarding results and subsequent phases of the recruitment process.
