Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba delivered another stellar performance on Monday Night Football, catching six passes for 118 yards and a touchdown in a 34-17 loss to the Chicago Bears at Lumen Field.

Targeted 11 times by quarterback Sam Darnold, Smith-Njigba led the Seahawks across the board in receptions, receiving yards, and targets. His performance included a highlight 43-yard touchdown catch right before halftime, which brought Seattle within striking distance before the break.

The standout play sparked immediate reaction from analysts, including Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe. Taking to social media, Sharpe criticized Chicago cornerback Tyrique Stevenson for losing coverage on the play, writing that the defender got caught looking into the backfield.

With this latest output, Smith-Njigba reached the 100-yard receiving mark for the seventh time in eight games this season. He currently ranks near the top of the league in catches, receiving yards, and touchdowns, maintaining an elite level of production.

The absence of teammate Rashid Shaheed due to a knee injury further expanded downfield responsibilities for Smith-Njigba, who continues to absorb a heavy target share in the Seattle offense. He heads into a Week 9 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals just 15 yards short of his third consecutive 1,000-yard campaign.

Despite Smith-Njigba's historic pace and team-high 23.8 fantasy points, the Seahawks struggled to contain the Bears in the second half. The defeat dropped Seattle's record to 4-4 on the season, raising questions about the team's consistency as they look toward the remainder of the schedule.
