Real Madrid continued their flawless start to the UEFA Champions League campaign by securing a dominant 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Spanish side maintained their 100% record in the European competition, rising to fourth place in the tournament standings following the comprehensive win.

Despite dominating possession early on, Jose Mourinho's side struggled to break through a resilient German defense during a tightly contested first half. RB Leipzig threatened on the counterattack, with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois forced to make crucial saves to deny efforts from Christopher Nkunku and Romulo.

The deadlock was finally broken two minutes before halftime when summer signing Bernardo Silva capitalized on a rebound. After Federico Valverde drove down the right flank and sent a low cross into the box, Arda Guler fired a shot that was saved by goalkeeper Maarten Vandevoordt, allowing Silva to convert from close range and put the hosts ahead.

Real Madrid doubled their advantage shortly after the interval in the 52nd minute. Jude Bellingham delivered a cross into the penalty area, where Kylian Mbappe outjumped the visiting defense with a header that set up Guler for a simple tap-in over the goal line.

Mbappe added a third goal for the hosts with thirty minutes remaining, receiving a pass from Yan Diomande before unleashing a curling, right-footed strike into the top corner from the edge of the penalty area. The goal marked the French forward's 12th of the season across all competitions.

RB Leipzig responded quickly when Tidiam Gomis finished off a neat team move to pull a goal back for the visitors. However, any hopes of a late comeback were swiftly extinguished in the 87th minute when former Leipzig player Yan Diomande rifled a spectacular volley into the top corner from outside the box, sealing the 4-1 scoreline.

With this victory, Real Madrid climbs to the fourth position in the Champions League standings, while RB Leipzig drops to 30th place. Looking ahead, Mourinho's men will shift their focus domestically to face Barcelona in the first El Clasico of the season on Sunday, October 25, before returning to European action in November against Greek side AEK Athens. Meanwhile, Leipzig will prepare to host Manchester City.
