Parma secured a dominant 3-0 away victory over Atalanta, highlighted by a standout performance from 18-year-old forward Simone Lontani. The young striker sealed the win with a brilliant individual effort, nutmegging Mario Pasalic at the edge of the penalty area before curling a precise shot past goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi.

The result leaves Atalanta reeling after a match that manager Maurizio Sarri described as having a completely inexplicable scoreline based on the run of play. Despite controlling the first half and creating numerous opportunities, Atalanta conceded late in the opening period and failed to recover, falling apart emotionally and mentally after the break.

Speaking to reporters after the match, Sarri did not mince words regarding his team's performance. "We have to stay quiet and apologize to the club and the fans: we need to find compactness and positive emotion among ourselves," Sarri stated. He admitted that his squad demonstrated an alarming lack of resilience once things stopped going their way.

The Atalanta coach explained that the loss stemmed entirely from psychological factors rather than tactical shortcomings. According to Sarri, his side played excellent soccer in the opening forty minutes, utilizing crisp passing and movement without the ball, but completely unraveled after conceding from a set piece.

"The match was lost from a mental and emotional standpoint. Tactics have nothing to do with it," Sarri said. "The feeling of mental fragility was clear. Before the corner kick goal, the game was in full control, and then fear and nervousness took over us."

While Atalanta searches for answers during a team retreat, Parma is celebrating a rising star in Lontani. With five goals in 11 official appearances this season, the teenager's impressive form and crucial goal against Atalanta have sparked discussions regarding a potential call-up to the Italian national team under manager Roberto Mancini for upcoming fixtures.

Sarri emphasized that his squad must draw upon the positives from their strong first-half display while addressing their alarming tendency to fold under pressure. Atalanta has now conceded 14 goals over their last five matches, a defensive regression that the manager insists must be corrected immediately.

Despite the disappointing outcome, Sarri praised the supporters for backing the team throughout the ninety-five minutes, noting that any whistles at the final whistle came from a place of deep affection for the club.
