Olivia Dean to Headline Milk + Cookies Festival South Africa 2027

Grammy and multi-BRIT Award-winning artist Olivia Dean is set to headline the third annual Milk + Cookies Festival in South Africa, bringing her soulful vocals to Cape Town and Johannesburg in January 2027. Organizers confirmed the headliner following weeks of online speculation and guessing games by eager music fans.

The festival kicks off at Sandringham Farm in Cape Town on January 29, 2027, before moving to the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg on January 31. The event is strictly for attendees aged 18 and older, continuing the platform's tradition of blending music, food, fashion, art, and design into a single immersive experience.

Dean arrives in South Africa at a high point in her career, following her 2026 Grammy win for Best New Artist and four BRIT Awards success for her sophomore album, The Art of Loving. She leads a star-studded, all-women supporting lineup that features notable South African acts including R&B artist Elaine, Amapiano sensation Zee Nxumalo, Chelsea Sloan, and Jade T.

Since its inaugural South African edition in 2025 featuring DJ Kaytranada, followed by rapper Gunna in 2026, the festival has built a reputation for defying strict genre boundaries. Festival organizers emphasize a commitment to booking for the collective mood of the audience rather than adhering to a single musical style.

The head of marketing at Milk + Cookies explained the philosophy behind the curation, stating that the event aims to create a specific feeling for the people in the room rather than focusing solely on commercial names on a poster. This approach has helped the platform deeply integrate with local creators, venues, and partners in every city it visits.

Tickets for the upcoming festival will go through multiple release phases. Pre-registration is currently open on the official festival website, with pre-sales launching on Wednesday, October 28, at 10 a.m. SAST, followed by general ticket sales on Friday, October 30, at 10 a.m. SAST via Howler for both tour stops.
