Nicole Taylor of Country Music Trio Taylor Red Dies at 35

Nicole Taylor, a member of the country music trio Taylor Red, has died at the age of 35. Her sisters and bandmates, Nika and Natalie Taylor, announced the news of her passing on social media, confirming that she died on September 28 following a diagnosis of terminal cancer.

The identical triplets, originally from Mississippi, gained significant recognition for their musical talents, playing instruments including the guitar, banjo, fiddle, and mandolin. After performing under the name Red Roots starting in 2010, the group rebranded as Taylor Red in 2018 and relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue their country music career.

The sisters shared that Nicole was first diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in 2022. Despite the aggressive nature of the illness, she continued to maintain an active lifestyle, even participating in CrossFit during her chemotherapy treatments. Initially, the treatments appeared successful, and she was declared to be without evidence of disease.

However, the family reported that nine months later, the cancer returned as stage four. In a video statement, Nika and Natalie Taylor reflected on the difficulty of the situation, noting that their sister had been given a prognosis of approximately three months to live. Despite the severity of her condition, the sisters emphasized Nicole's unwavering faith and her desire to face the diagnosis without fear.

The trio achieved widespread popularity in 2021 after their song "Country Money" went viral on social media. The sisters frequently credited platforms like TikTok for helping them reach a broader audience and breaking down barriers within the music industry that they had encountered for years.

In their tribute, Nika and Natalie described Nicole as their leader and best friend. They expressed that while they are heartbroken by the loss, they find comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering. A private funeral service for Nicole Taylor has already been held by the family.
