Motorhome Crashes Onto Tram Tracks in Zwickau
A 61-year-old driver caused thousands of dollars in damages after mistakenly driving his vehicle onto the tramway.
In the early hours of Monday morning, a 61-year-old driver navigated his Fiat motorhome onto the restricted tram tracks in Zwickau's Virchowplatz area, according to local authorities.
During the unauthorized transit, the vehicle collided with a barrier railing, resulting in property damage estimated by police to be around 6,000 euros.
The incident caused operating fluids to leak from the motorhome, requiring a swift response from the local fire department to manage the spill at the scene.
Following the cleanup operations, the vehicle had to be towed away from the tracks.
Authorities have initiated a traffic administrative offense procedure against the 61-year-old driver responsible for the incident.
