Marco Mengoni Launches New Album and Headlines X Factor Live Show

Italian singer Marco Mengoni made headlines this week by serving as the opening guest for the first live show of X Factor 2026. Performing an exclusive, unreleased set at the X Factor Arena in Assago, Mengoni returned to the singing competition that originally launched his career back in 2009. Over the course of his career, he has amassed more than three billion streams, 86 platinum records, and two victories at the Sanremo Music Festival.

Alongside his television appearance, Mengoni announced the upcoming release of his eleventh studio album, titled "Felice sì, ma tutto sbagliato," scheduled for release on December 11, 2026, via Epic Records Italy and Sony Music Italy. The record is available for pre-order in both CD and LP formats. The project marks a new chapter in his musical journey following years of extensive touring across stadiums, arenas, and European venues.

The album is preceded by the single "Giornate perse," which Mengoni wrote alongside Jacopo Ettorre. Produced by Giovanni Pallotti and Marco Mengoni with co-production from Vanegas, the track reflects on the quiet periods following complex life moments, the anticipation of change, and the choice to use one's voice honestly. The song also serves as an intimate homage to the late Italian singer-songwriter Lucio Dalla.

In addition to his new record, Mengoni is launching a multidisciplinary project called "Allo Sbagliato." Running as an offline club residency from November 5 through November 19, 2026, the 26-night event features creative direction by Mengoni himself. The unique venue is designed without a traditional stage or barriers, positioning the audience directly around the performance area.

The residency blends soul and blues music, performed live with an 11-piece band, alongside elements of theater, comedy, and design. Guests attending the residency are required to place their mobile phones in secure pouches at the entrance to ensure a strictly offline experience. The eclectic lineup features stand-up comedians, international guest artists, and jazz musicians.

Meanwhile, the new season of X Factor 2026 continues with twelve competing contestants divided among judges Francesco Gabbani, Jake La Furia, Paola Iezzi, and newcomer Irama. The opening live broadcast also introduced a special twist involving host Giorgia, who utilized two "X Pass" selections to give previously eliminated contestants a chance to re-enter the competition via flash televoting.
