A newly leaked personal letter written by the late French actress Brigitte Bardot has shed light on the complex final years of her relationship with her long-time partner, Bernard d'Ormale. In the handwritten message dated November 17, 2022, and published by the newspaper Le Figaro, Bardot expressed profound distress and emotional isolation after decades together.

"You have destroyed me patiently, day after day, for 30 years," Bardot wrote in the note, adding that she desperately needed tenderness and support that her partner was incapable of providing. The disclosure of the letter coincides with a bitter legal and public dispute between d'Ormale and the Brigitte Bardot Foundation over the actress's iconic Saint-Tropez estate, La Madrague.

Bardot passed away on December 28, 2025, at the age of 91. Under her will, her multi-million-dollar fortune was divided between her son, Nicolas-Jacques Charrier, and her animal protection foundation. Although d'Ormale had lived at La Madrague for decades, the property was donated by Bardot to her foundation in the early 1990s, leaving the surviving partner with limited housing rights following her death.

The foundation has defended its decision to enforce a legal obligation requiring all occupants to vacate the premises within six months. Tensions escalated significantly when locks and entryways were altered, preventing d'Ormale from accessing the home upon returning from an errand. Foundation officials stated that they were merely executing the actress's final wishes and accused the 85-year-old widower of attempting to empty the property.

Max Guazzini, the newly appointed president of the foundation, raised concerns regarding the disappearance of Bardot's valuable Mini Moke microcar. "There was the Mini Moke of Brigitte Bardot which is worth a fortune, it has disappeared. Where did he put it?" Guazzini remarked during a media appearance, noting that d'Ormale had previously removed numerous items from the villa.

D'Ormale has denied attempting to clear the house improperly, describing his treatment by the foundation as inhumane and stressful given his age and long tenure at the residence. His lawyer noted that he was simply overwhelmed by the logistics of relocating after 35 years. D'Ormale is currently residing in an apartment provided by the Saint-Tropez council.

The ongoing fallout also touches upon political controversies that shadowed Bardot's later years. D'Ormale, a former adviser to far-right National Front leader Jean-Marie Le Pen, previously served briefly as the foundation's president before stepping down amid internal discontent. As legal battles and public arguments continue, the release of Bardot's private writings continues to captivate public interest in the legendary star's tumultuous personal life.
